Publication Development — Studio Brief 02 — OUGD505

Maintaining the communication with the collaborator, it was possible to get the best outcome based on the design decisions of myself and the conceptual reasoning from the photographer.

The screenshots of the overall design development are below along with a simple explanation of the final choice:

Final Page Layout:

It became quickly evident to both Laura and myself that it needed to be kept simple, to not distract from the content and ensure that the reader can be fully engaged by the image and quote.

By using the blue from Pantone Colour of the Year (Serenity), it was possible to keep the type legible yet neutral and the other colour of the year (Rose Quartz) was simply too bright on the page and was not easy to read.
