Peer Feedback - Studio Brief 01 - OUGD504

After the Context of Practice induction in the morning, we had a session to gather any feedback from our peers on the mid stage development of our leaflets.

I set out a few questions on what issues with the design I wanted to amend and asked their opinions:

Question 1:
Do you think the imagery could be positioned more appropriately, if so, how?

Answer 1:
"I quite like it aligned to the left. Professional approach."

"The prototype is well placed in the sense of a more modern approach, keeping a minimal look."

"Looks modern as is, if you fill it with image too much it may become a distraction."

"I like the positioning as it is, good angle and makes sense"

"The position is good, it make it look modern and minimal"

"Try not to leave too much space at the bottom of the shape, make the text block smaller."

"Love the plant vibe." < Sounds like criticism, but I'll take it.

"I like the images were they are - You could use different plants/images for each step."

"You could do it so the imagery all adds up to one big picture in the centre or something. I really like the text and layout."

Question 2:
Is the amount of content enough? If not, should I add more or take some?

Answer 2:
"Enough content. Great use of negative space."

"Better not to fill the whole of the white space."

"Looks concise, just the right amount."

"I think it's enough, anymore would be chaotic, less wouldn't have enough in formation."

"Enough text, don't add more."

"Yes it doesn't over-complicate it, lots of what space."

"Simpler the better! Anyone could follow this which is a good thing!"

"Yeah! I think because the folds are complex - Too much content would be too much!"

"Ideal content - not too busy but enough to understand the overall process."

Question 3:
As the folds are fairly close together, do you think a thinner stock would aid the process, or use a heavier one for more rigidity?

Answer 3:
"You'd need to experiment with stock, might spring open if too thick. If so you could put a slit in the centre each fold so it is more contained."

"I have been testing my stock and how it folds, I recommend you do it. It needs to be sturdy but not too thick or the leaflet won't close nicely."

"A thinner stock would help the folds join easier, but wouldn't feel as nice to touch like a heavier stock would."

This session has been hugely beneficial for me. I appreciate all of the positive comments on my work so far and realise there are a few critiques I would like to implement into my work before printing my final draft.
