After receiving feedback in the crit, I was advised to create something more icon based to deter away from the unusual name. To begin, I experimented with some basic shapes to see where it would take me. I started with an 4x4 grid of circles, but this was too detailed so I reduced it down to 3x3 which is much more subtle. The text at the top is provisional to give me an idea of where I could place it.
Expanding on the circle idea to represent the knobs and take the attention away from the name, I combined 4 simple stroked circles to represent the multiple of 4 knobs (32). But i figured this looked too much like the olympic logo, so I quickly moved on.
Looking further into the last logo, I though maybe I could utilise the shape made by the circles.
To expanding on the idea of the utilisation of the shape, added text gives the consumer a clearer idea of what the product is, however the icon is too distractive from the text, in other words, too complex, a simpler shape will be required to represent the product more appropriately.
As a quick tester, I wanted to add text in a similar style to the type research I did in the post before this. By using Arial Rounded, I was able to add type without distracting from the icon, thus working as one complete logo rather than having them both rivalling each other to be seen first.
What does this logo represent? A knob, ear and audio velocity.
